Oral Cancer Screening
Patients who are immune-compromised with habit of smoking, eating tobacco and constantly under stress tend to get lesions inside the mouth. These lesions cause burning sensation and patients find it difficult to eat. Very often ulceration either localized or widespread are observed inside the mouth. The lesions can range from simple ulcers to RED, WHITE lesions like lichen planus, leukoplakia, lichenoid reactions, oral submucous fibrosis, fibroma, papilloma, candidasis to oral cancers. Systemic diseases like diabetes, hypertension also add to the problem.
At Smayate Dental Clinic we take detailed history to understand the cause of the lesion and then begin treating the lesion. The treatment is slow so it needs patience. Some patients get relief from discomfort faster than the others. We also offer tobacco De-Addiction Program which helps people quit tobacco.
