Conventional Braces

Conventional braces are the most commonly used braces as they are relatively cheaper than the self ligating.

The drawback of conventional braces is that it uses a colourful elastic ligature which causes a bit of friction during the movement process, making the tooth movement process slower. As the tooth moves and shifts to a new position, the rubber tie slows the movement of the wire passing through, causing slower tooth movement.
